I know that at least 2 animate skills are being added in factions, but i have a been dwelling on these for a little while.

Animate Bone Mage
Cost 25, cast 3, recharge 5

Exploit nearest corpse to animate a level 1...14 bone mage.

Ok, the details. This will summon a random element ele that spams a weak spell and a medium spell for their element. So, a fire would do flare and fireball(or something of the like), ice would do ice spear and maybe shard storm, air would do lightning strike and chain lightning, and earth would do stone daggers and i dunno.

Another way would be simply to give them monster only skills, that gain extra effects or damage as they go higher lvl. So, ice would say start off with low damage, and maybe 5...60% slow attack, fire would have a 1...6 sec burn and low damage or just med damage, air might have medium damage, but their spell slowly turns into a chain lightning from say 1...6 targets. Earth, a knockdown of some sort or maybe armour ignoring damage.

Animate Shadow {E}
Cost 25, 3 cast, 5 recharge

Exploit nearest corpse to create a level 1...18 (level scales a bit faster) shadow. You can only have one shadow at any time.

Shadows start with no degen and go slowly to -20 like all animated, but do this at maybe a half or quarter rate. They inflict, cold, shadow or dark (haven't decided) damage. They have a faster attack rate than horrors (about 2 secs) their armour and health are slightly better (about 500 hp and 85 armour at lvl 18).

Now, this next one could be a different class altogether.

Animate Object
20e, 3 cast, 5 recharge

Target object comes to life for 52...120 seconds (or something like that) and attacks foes.

I'm not too sure on that one though...

Soul Stealer
Cost 25, 3 cast, 5 recharge

Exploit nearest corpse to summon a level 1...20 spirit of the same type.

Well...yeah...

Venegance of Souls {E}
Cost 25, 3 cast, 5 recharge (all these are really default formats)

Exploit nearest corpse to bring forth a large shadow which attacks all foes in the area. This shadow does 26...70 (dunno?) damage per attack. All foes that are attacked suffer health degeneration of 3...8 and energy degeneration of 1...3 for 5 seconds

That one may be soul reaping though...

And, nothing can be done without the best of all...

Animate Giant Bone
5 energy, 1/4 cast

Exploit nearest corpse to animate a giant bone that destroys the whole of Tyria and everything on it. This spell causes exhaustion. ;P

That one could be put to a more serious use though...

All skills except animate object and venegance of souls are death magic. Notice the pattern of cost, cast and recharge?

Well, post your thoughts.

Ooo, just thought of this for soul stealer...it could infuse that creature's soul into one of your minions, increasing it's health and armour by 50% of that creature's...

And another silly one i just thought of:

Revenge of the Undead
Cost 15, 3 cast, 5 recharge

Exploit a corpse to animate 1...50 level 1...8 mini-bone horrors. (by mini i mean, about a foot or 2 tall)

I'd personally love to see that, just for comedy purposes...UNDEAD SWARM

well your ideas dont really bring anything new to the plate, its pretty much more of the same, and who would waste there elite slot to summon a minion that they can only have 1 of, even if its more powerful?

I'm pretty sure i saw on the new skills, that both new elites you can only have 1 of...flesh golem and a vampire or somethin...and that shadow is about the same as a lvl 20 war...but has no skills. The damage it does would be shadow or dark, meaning armour ignoring...

so you copied what they did? Even if anet is using something like that, it would have to be A LOT more powerful then a normal minion to be of any use in pve and pvp.

Maybe tweak that a little, but that will take away the corpse competition and shortage...adding that to the main..
